POLICE are investigating after unknown persons broke into the Cedar Creek Pony Club at Tamborine during the night of August 3.

Police said the offenders jimmied open the roller doors of the property at 1501 Beaudesert Beenleigh Road, Tamborine.

Police said the building was set alight but the fire self-extinguished causing extensive smoke damage.

Police said there are no suspects.

Police are calling for anyone with information that may help their investigation to contact the station.

The Cedar Creek Pony Club, which has been operating for more than 20 years, is now left to recover.

The club had just been getting back on its feet after suffering significant damage during the 2017 March flood.

This latest setback is heartbreaking for the club’s 20 members who are determined to rebuild.
