SCENIC Rim residents were treated to a series of activities, performances and demonstrations with the Experiencing Asia Cultural Day on Saturday.
The events took place at The Centre Beaudesert and Boonah Cultural Centre, presented free of charge by Scenic Rim Regional Council.
Classes and workshops included Japanese Kanzashi flower brooch making, Kirigami paper cutting, Chinese woodblock and paper cutting and Japanese journal making.
Demonstrations included Thai cooking, contemporary Ikebana flower arranging and Indian cooking.
Visitors were entertained by the Thai Classical Dancing Group from the Wat Thai Buddharam Thai Language and Culture School.
Other cultural activities included a Japanese Toko Ton Taiko drumming workshop, Tai Chi, yoga and Bollywood dancing.
The abbot of Wat Thai Buddharam Temple was also at The Center Beaudesert to lead a meditation session for those interested in Thai Theravada Buddhist tradition.
Boonah Cultural Centre showed two movies during the day; Eat, Drink, Man, Woman and Sherpa Trouble on Everest.
