NATIONAL Seniors Beaudesert will be hosting a celebration for National Seniors Week.
Group secretary Rosemary Ryan said the group had planned a fun day for members and guests at the Beaudesert Golf Club on August 22.
“Open to all seniors aged 50 and older, the day will include a Devonshire morning tea and a buffet lunch,” she said.
“The cost is $15 per person and the Mike Kent band will be in attendance to entertain us with their toe-tapping music.”
Ms Ryan said places for the event were limited to 100 and anyone interested could get a ticket by calling her on 0409 265 472.
She said residents were also welcome to come along to their regular monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of every month.
“Our group has been going for about 40 years in Beaudesert and there are benefits to joining,” Ms Ryan said.
“Sometimes we have a guest speaker at our meetings and we also have regular outings.
“We have had a trip to Lightning Ridge, we’ve been to Barton’s Rose Farm and last month we shared a bus with Probus and had a great time at the camel farm.
“Next month we are going up to Kingaroy for two nights and coming back through the Bunya Mountains.
Ms Ryan said the benefits of joining National Seniors Beaudesert were many.
“It’s about friendship, company and the ability to catch up with people or meet people you don’t normally see down the street,” she said.
