Beaudesert Tennis Club has stepped up its game after joining the Logan City Junior Premier League.

The competition gives members to pitch their court skills against some of the best players throughout the region including teams from Loganlea, Marsden, Park Ridge, Beenleigh, Jimboomba and Sunnybank.

On July 21, Beaudesert teams played their hearts out, wearing their brand new team shirts provided by sponsor Scenic Rim Discount Drug Store.

The green ball team, Beaudesert Bandits, consisted of Hayden Griffin, Stella Aherns, Kieren Cahill played an away game against Marsden.

Logan Taylor, Carter Robinson and Charolette Shields in the yellow ball team, Beaudesert Outlaws took on Park ridge at home in Beaudesert.

Carter’s mum Jaye Robinson said playing out-of-towners had been good for the 11-year-old’s development in the sport.

“These kids have been playing each other for a while, so this competition is a great opportunity for them to challenge themselves and grow their talents,” she said.

“The away games give them the experience of playing at different clubs with different crowds and different atmospheres and it’s good for them to learn how to cope with the challenges that come with that.”

Although there were no wins on the day, club management said the kids had an amazing time and enjoyed playing in the team environment.

On Saturday the Beaudesert Bandits will play in Beaudesert at 1pm against Beenleigh with the Beaudesert Outlaws to play Beenleigh on their home ground.
