The Boonah Rathdowney team looked to secure back-to-back wins in the Cunningham District Pennants against Yeronga at Rathdowney in round four on Saturday, July 21.

However, it wasn’t to be, with the side suffering its second defeat of the season after claiming only one rink win of the three contested on the day.

Rathdowney Memorial Bowls Club president Dot Cooke said the squad came crashing back to earth with a thud.

“It was a brilliant day, played in fabulous spirit and they were a terrific group of people,” she said.

This Saturday Boonah Rathdowney travel to take on Souths Acacia.

“They’ve had one defeat this season, so this will be a real test to see if we can stand back up after last week,” Mrs Cooke said.
