Police have charged a man after an incident at Coolangatta in the early hours of yesterday morning.
It will be alleged the two men, who are not known to each other, were at a licenced premises in Marine Parade around 1am.
A 34-year-old man asked a woman who was dancing with a 21-year-old man to stop bumping into him.
The 21-year-old man allegedly hit the 34-year-old man with a glass to the right side of his face and ear causing a 10cm long cut.
The 21-year-old man tried to leave but was stopped by friends of the other man.
The 34-year-old Kooralbyn man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries to his ear and face.
The Tweed Heads man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on July 7.
