SCENIC Rise mother of four Krystall Bardell is proud of her twin sons for their act of honesty.
Ms Bardell said her eight-year-old sons Zachary and Lucas were playing on their trampoline after school yesterday when they noticed a wallet lying on the road.
“They went out and picked it up and we found the owner via Facebook,” she said.
“They were so excited to be able to return it to him.
“It belonged to a man who lives across the road from us, he had been on his way to the shops and when he arrived he realised he didn’t have his wallet.
“He must have dropped it when he was getting in the car.
“When he called he asked us if the money was still there and we were glad to tell him that it was.”
Ms Bardell said the boys knew not to expect a reward for doing the right thing but when the neighbour asked them what kind of chocolate they liked, they told him they liked all kinds of chocolate.
“He shook their hands and said thank you to them,” she said.
“When he came back from the shops he knocked on our door and gave each of them a block of chocolate and five dollars.
“We are so proud of our boys for their honesty and their father said the community needs to know that there are good, honest kids in Beaudesert.”
