ARTISTS from across the Scenic Rim gathered on February 27 to celebrate 10 years of Open Studios and launch the 2018 Studio and Events pocket guide to Cultural Trails around the region.
Open Studios events are a celebration of creativity and culture which allows guests to see artists at work in their own artistic space.
Drinks and nibbles were served at The Centre Beaudesert while guests enjoyed music provided by GCs Music.
Diners then took their seats for a discussion about the journey of Open Studios over the past decade and also about how to support future opportunities for practising artists and how to promote cultural tourism in the Scenic Rim.
A forum of prominent local artists led the discussion and included council’s cultural services co-ordinator Bronwyn Davies, Felicity Smith, Dave Groom, Cindy Wood, Betty Bull, Andy Grodecki and council’s Open Studios officer Irene Girsch-Danby.
The evening was topped off with a communal meal and a 10th birthday cake.
