Harvest Point Church will host their Night in the Park event this weekend with market stalls, live entertainment and food vans all on offer.
Amber Richardson who works with church youth alongside her husband Jessie said the event is not being held to raise funds for anything.
“We had it on our hearts not to make a profit at all, just to cover costs,” she said.
‘Entry is free and there will be a mechanical surfboard, mince pie-eating contest and a giant raffle.
‘There will also be entertainment on the stage from our youth band, church band and some of our singers who will lead us in some classic Christmas carols.”
Mrs Richardson said they had some fabulous prizes donated for the night, including a drone helicopter, a DIY replica car motor, movie passes and vouchers from local businesses.
“The major prizes will be for who can eat the most mince pies and and who can stay on the mechanical surfboard the longest,” she said.
“Once we’ve determined whether or not there are runners-up in each contest the rest of the prizes will go in the raffle.”
A Night in the Park starts at 5pm on December 9 and will finish at 8pm.
