IN the spirit of Christmas, federal member for Wright, Scott Buchholz has delivered presents to an organisation that helps families doing it tough.
Mr Buchholz donated 10 stationery packs filled with notebooks, diaries, pens, pencils and glue to staff and volunteers from Able Australia in Jimboomba.
“Able Australia helped over 8000 local families last year, it is my pleasure to support the work they do in the community by donating these back-to-school packs,” Mr Buchholz said.
“Stationery and supplies for the school year are a practical gift that could really mean the world to many people on a tight budget,” Mr Buchholz said.
“Back to school supplies can be very expensive so I hope this helps for some needy families.”
Mr Buchholz said everybody needed help from time to time and encouraged locals to give generously to those less fortunate in the community this Christmas.
“If you can’t help with food or a donation, you could always give your time to a worthy organisation like Able Australia.
“This is after all, the season of giving.”
Able Australia Area Manager Ann Adkins was grateful for the donation.
“These packs will go to some very deserving children and their families to help them get prepared for the new school year,” Mrs Adkins said.
“I would like to say a very big thank you to Scott for his kind donation of these worthwhile gifts.”
