BEAUDESERT Race Club is set to attract almost double the usual amount of prize money on offer at their upcoming race meet.
About $20,000 per race will be available at the event on Monday, October 2.
Spectators will enjoy viewing eight races instead of seven starting from 11am, with the first race beginning at 12.40pm.
Due to temporary closure of Eagle Farm Race Course, Beaudesert Race Club secured more race dates, including next month’s public holiday date – Queen’s Birthday.
The club will bring a family-friendly atmosphere as there will be several activities for children at the main marquee, food and drinks available.
Beaudesert Race Club general manager Lisa Hartney said she was thrilled to host the event in town due to the change of location.
“It's a good opportunity for Beaudesert to get back on the map after losing three race meetings earlier in the year due floods,” she said.
“The extra prize money has almost doubled from our usual pool of $10,000 per race to $20,000 per race.”
Ms Hartney said she anticipated great racing action on the day as spectators would see an additional race.
“It's a chance to head out with friends and family and get in the spirit of spring racing,” she said.
She said the meeting would bring more race-goers to town during the public holiday, seeing a line up of more trainers and a full field.
Entry costs are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
