There is no excuse for children to get bored these school holidays with activities offered at participating Scenic Rim centres.
All activities are for kids aged six and over unless otherwise stated and bookings are essential for most.
Items for craft activities must be brought by participating children.
1. Milk bottle fun
When: Wednesday, September 20, from 9.30am until 12pm at The Centre Beaudesert and 1.30pm to 4pm at Boonah Cultural Centre.
What: Children aged six and over can craft home brought plastic 2-litre milk bottles into time capsules to store treasured items and make masks. Textile artist Erica Bates will also be on hand to help out.
When: From 10am and noon on Thursday, September 21 Sept at Boonah Cultural Centre and the same time again on Wednesday, September 27, at The Centre Beaudesert.
What: Style a shirt into a fashionable bag by using scissors and knots. Children should bring an old soft cotton t-shirt and any favourite decorations for the activity.
3. Plastic wristband weaving
When: 9.30am until noon on Tuesday, September 26 at Boonah Cultural Centre.
What: Recycle plastic bread bags into plastic yarn to make wristbands, with help from textile artist Erica Bates.
4. Weave paper baskets
When: 10am until noon on Thursday, September 28 at Boonah Cultural Centre.
What: Use recycled newspapers and magazines to make a paper basket or box.
5. House designs
When: 10.30am until 2.30pm on both Friday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 26 at The Centre Beaudesert.
What: Kids can play free recycling games and create their home models.

6. Worm power
When: 10am on Friday, September 22 at Boonah Cultural Centre and the same time on Thursday, September 28, at The Centre Beaudesert.
What: Kids will learn the important role worms play in our environment and will go home with their very own handmade worm farm. Children need to bring a plant pot or old bucket with a 20-30cm rim diametre.

7. Dance camp
When: 8.30am until 3pm daily from Tuesday, September 19 to Friday, September 22.
What: Kids aged from five to 17 years can learn ballet, jazz and musical theatre moves, as well as make costumes, in this four day Queensland Ballet dance camp.
Cost: Tickets are $160 per child.
8. Children’s movie magic
When: Various times on both weeks of the school holidays at Boonah Cultural Centre and The Centre Beaudesert.
What: Enjoy films including: Smurfs: The lost village, Mr Fuzzypants, Boss Baby, Power Rangers, Despicable Me 3, Beauty and the Beast and A Street Cat Named Bob.
Cost: $5 per person, which includes a snack and drink. Tickets bought at the door.
