Clydesdale show set for big crowds

Hot on the heels of the Boonah Show earlier this month, the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular will again entice visitors to the recreational region.

The spectacular kicks off at 9am on Saturday, June 17 at the Boonah Showgrounds and runs across both days this weekend.

The event showcases the full capabilities of Clydesdale workhorses through demonstrations of ploughing, shoeing and harness work.

Other highlights include Scottish pipers, a Clydesdale photography competition and the campfire dinner – the spectacular’s main event on Saturday night.

The Clydesdale spectacular won the the Scenic Rim Community Event of the Year at January’s Australia Day Awards.

Last year the state government awarded a $10,000 grant to the event, to help promote it to a wider audience.
