Community notices changes to community diary format

The Beaudesert Times has launched a regular community notices section each week with a new focus on individual events displayed in a community diary format.

Where space permits community groups and organisations that meet on a regular basis, to give general information to the wider community will also be included.

We want to showcase and promote the local non-for-profit community groups, organisations, activities and events that residents are involved in and are appreciative of the information you provide.

We are constantly looking for ways to improve our service, and particularly, to take advantage of new technology.

As a result we have developed a new online form for the submission of community news and events. The form is really simple to use and can be accessed via any computer or mobile device, including your smart phone.

Click on this link and it will take you straight to the form.

The form is also available on our website under the banner which says Results | Photos | Events: submit here.

The link is available to use now and went live on The Beaudesert Times from May 10.

The Beaudesert will edit notices for brevity and individual events will take precedence over general notices.

There is a character limit of 750 characters for the information in a notice.

As of May 17 we will be publishing the community diary which aims to inform people about your meeting dates, special events and more.

On opening the form you just need to enter the following when prompted:

1. The name of  club, community group or organisation.

2. The name of the event eg: fundraiser, group meeting, exhibition

3. The date and time of the event

4. Where the event is taking place

5. Any additional information eg: cost, dress code, age group, items to bring along.

6. Contact name and number

Community Notices contributors Joy Drescher, Natalie McDonald and Pamela Hardgrave will now move to roles as Community Correspondents for their respective communities of Beaudesert, Boonah and Rathdowney, providing not only notices but news tips and story leads to our journalists.
