DARLINGTON State School are welcoming the Scenic Rim to enjoy a family fun day in the Lost World Valley.

The Darlington Community Market and Country Family Fun Day will be held on Sunday, March 26 at Kerry Road, Darlington.

There will be more than 30 market stalls selling homemade and homegrown products, coffee vendors and baked goods from the Vintage Cafe.

Entertainment will include live music and a whip cracking display and a raffle competition for accommodation at Kirro Farm Stay will also be on offer.

Children can enjoy face painting, old fashioned country games and novelty races, jumping castles and easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny himself.

Darlington School P&C vice president Nathan Overell said the bi-annual event was a great way to bring the community together.

“There is so much for kids to do and and the markets are completely unique, you will find things you can’t find anywhere else,” she said.

“There will be a fantastic country feel on the day and will make everyone feel right at home.”

Mr Overell said the money raised would go towards the costs of the school’s student camp.

“It’s a small school of 31 students and we fundraise so that no student misses out on the chance to go on the camp,” he said.

Mr Overell said he expected to see hundreds of people, including visitors from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Entry costs $5 per family and it is advised to bring cash as there is limited phone service and no ATM’s will be on site.
