Beaudesert Mitre 10 has shone brightly in this year’s Mitre 10 State Awards, bringing home a 2016 Garden Centre Award and an Employee of the Year Finalist Award.
Beaudesert Mitre 10 store manager Clint Spence said the Garden Centre Award was a great achievement for the store and he was proud of his staff.
“It was good to see that we were worthy enough to be nominated and we’ve been received with the best in the state,” he said.
“The staff work hard at presenting healthy, established plants for our customers to purchase.”
Mr Spence said he nominated staff member Victoria Carroll as Employee of the Year.
He said Ms Carroll always had a smile on her face and would go above and beyond for her customers.
“She is a breath of fresh air, especially when she is meeting and greeting customers at the front,” Mr Spence said.
“She is friendly and talkative and she loves what she does.”
Ms Carroll said she was surprised but honoured to have been nominated.
“I was very proud to be in the final four,” she said.
“I wouldn’t have been there (at the awards night) if it wasn’t for my boss and team.”
Ms Carroll, otherwise known as the smiling whirlwind, has prided herself on meeting and greeting customers who enter the store.
“I’ve been working here for three years and in that time I’ve accumulated a lot of trust with customers and staff,” she said.
