Garterbelts and Gasoline Hot Rod Carnivale 2014: Photos

HOTTED up cars, glamorous guys and gals and rock n roll dancing were the order of the day at the Garterbelts and Gasoline Hot Rod Carnivale on Sunday.

The event at the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds in south-east Queensland attracted about 4000 people, with vintage car owners and spectators coming from all over Australia.

The grounds were filled to capacity with cars dating back to the 1930s which had been driven from as far as Western Australia to the showgrounds.

Rock n Roll dancers twirled and skipped to live rockabilly music from the Sugar Shakers, Zephyr Project, Truckstop, Firebird Trio, Ten Fours, The Hi Boys, the Fuelers and DJ Timmy on an open air dance floor throughout the day.

There was also an art show with custom culture pieces from all over the country.

Organiser Paul Biagini said he was pleased with the turnout and it was good to see the showgrounds packed for the event.
