FIREWORKS, baby animals and amusement rides were just some of the many attractions enjoyed at this year’s annual Tamborine Mountain Show on Saturday.

However, it was Australia’s Got Talent sensation Bree De Rome who stole the show according to organisers.

Visitors enjoyed a special guest appearance by Ms De Rome who unexpectedly opted to treat show-goers by singing the Australian national anthem during the official opening before going on to perform later in the afternoon.

Organiser of the show Lisa Van Balveren said with about 3000 people through the gate, the new single day format of the show had received a lot of positive feedback.

“Overall the day went pretty good from what I have been told and everyone was quite happy with the change to the one day,” she said.

“People said it was nicer that it was all one day and people only had to come one day and they saw what they would have if they had been there the two days.”

Ms Van Balveren said she expected the new format would continue again at next year’s show but would depend on the show committee.

“It will depend on who is on the committee again next year... but I would say they would probably do the same thing,” she said.

She said the new change released a bit of the financial strain on tradespeople and reduced the time commitment required by volunteers.

Other highlights on the day included the country music competition, horse events, displays and a fireworks display.
