ALAN Lomax, of Kooralbyn, has won a $1000 voucher for Beaudesert Furniture Court and Beds R Us as part of the Love Buying Local campaign.

Organised by the Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, and supported by the Beaudesert Times, the campaign encouraged residents to spend their money with local businesses and services.

Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce president Kelvin Marks has labelled the campaign as the most successful to date.

“Across the board the awareness of shopping local is out there,” Mr Marks said.

“Speaking to businesses, they have been saying this has been the best year by far.

“It is really encouraging to see the message getting out there strongly.”

Mr Marks thanked the community for their support of local businesses.

“Every sale does its bit.”

Mr Marks said he hoped residents would continue with their pledge to think about buying locally.

In the campaign, shoppers who spent money at a business taking part in the Love Buying Local campaign could enter the draw to win the voucher.
