Car crashes into Beaudesert business

Update 12.40pm: A 76-YEAR-OLD Boonah man was involved in a single vehicle accident today after his car crashed into a front shop window at Beaudesert.

The incident occurred about 11.20am on the intersection of Brisbane Street and Telemon Street.

A police spokesman said early indication suggested the driver either fell asleep at the wheel or loss of attention to the road was the cause of the accident.

He said the man was travelling on William Street towards Telemon Street before the crash.

The spokesman said several witnesses came forward with information.

Police are further investigating.

Queensland Ambulance Services said the driver sustained no injuries and no one else was injured.

Earlier, 12pm: A car was towed at Beaudesert after crashing into a furniture store on the intersection of Brisbane Street and Telemon Street.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said they were called in case structural damage was caused to the store.

He said upon arrival on the scene, the driver was found safe and out of the car.

The spokesman said the structure of the store and the car was checked and was deemed safe.

He said the damage was caused to the glass wall.

Earlier, 11.50am

A CAR has crashed into a furniture store at the intersection of Telemon Street and Brisbane Street.

Emergency services are on the scene of the crash which occurred about 11.20am on Friday.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesman said one car was involved in the crash.

A man, believed to be in his 70s, was driving the car, but sustained no obvious injuries.

Police are diverting traffic while the car is removed.
