Kalbar targeted with a rise in thefts

SEVERAL cars were broken into, one was stolen and another was set alight in what police said they believe was a crime spree.

A police spokesman said a stolen car was found burnt out at Kalbar one week after it was stolen from Nambour on Thursday, July 27.

He said the vehicle was located on Stockman Street in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 3.

He said several vehicles on George Street and Settlers Drive were also broken into and a quantity of cash was stolen.

The spokesman said a George Street dwelling was also targeted and a white 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen.

He said police believed the thefts were connected.

The spokesman said police were calling on witnesses to come forward while investigations were continuing.
