A GIANT slide, face painting and laser skirmish are only some of the activities available at a popular Beaudesert event.

St Mary’s Community Fete is set to double its entertainment to cater for the growing number of visitors who walk through the school gates.

It will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 11am at the school’s parish complex on Bromelton Street.

There will be stalls selling sweets, burgers, pulled pork rolls as well as mystery bags, plants, books and crafts.

Children can enjoy games and a dragon castle.

Coordinator Mark Plunkett said the event continued to grow into a bigger and bright community fete.

“It isn’t just a school and parish event, we have made it our mission to incorporate the whole community from the stalls available to the new addition of the bucking bull event,” he said.

Funds raised would go towards much-needed maintenance at the school and parish.

New addition

Once the family fun comes to an end, adults can enjoy a bucking bull event with entertainer Susie Reiser from 7pm at St Mary’s School’s Gallagher hall.

There will be music and an open bar at the 18 years and older event.

Entry costs $10.
