Beaudesert Kingfishers junior reports

Under 7s

The Dylete under 7 Blue team play an away game at Coomera. After a slow first quarter, the team rallied their defense and showed true Kingfisher spirit. The big boys again led the way with some big hard runs, and the quick players had a great attacking and defending game in slick conditions. The side are playing very well as a team, learning to share possession and runs, and again showing great team spirit. Well done to Eamon and Liam for earning man of the match for their big runs, and try saving tackles

Under 8s

Today the under 8s had there carnival, they played very well and gave it everything they had, they come across some bigger boys who were not only fast but very quick in side stepping.

The team fought each and every game they played and tried to stop the other team scoring as much as possible and when they had the ball and they seen an opening they ran hard to get it over the line.

A huge thank you to Kevin and Kristie Mark for being league safe, to the parents who brought fruit thank you so much it was loved by all.

Under 9s

Today the Haack Logistics under 9s travelled to Coomera to play the Coomera Cutters. Once again the team was locked in a back and forth game but were just beaten by the Cutters. The two man of the match awards went to Blake Harris Dean for his determined hard running and to Tyler Lowe for his great try saving efforts.

Under 11s

Beaudesert Security under 11s travelled to Mudgeeraba on Saturday and fought hard to beat an undefeated Redbacks team outscoring them five tries to four.

Mudgeereeba’s forwards were strong in the first half dominating the ruck with their size and scoring two quick tries.

Some ferocious defence efforts from Lock Vincent Coper, Second Row Jase Browne, and Props Jacob Evile and Beau Fraser was the proving factor that forced the Redbacks forwards backwards.

On the back of some strong defence Kingfishers fought back with two tries of their own levelling the score at half time.

Some strong words by Kingfishers Coach John Evile fired the boys up and with some tactical positional changes the Kingfishers showed tremendous heart and aggression in defence. The much bigger Redbacks pack were starting to tire and hooker Luke Bostock immediately took advantage making valuable meters from dummy half.

Receivers Aidan McGuire and Jimmy McClure were also quick to pounce on the tired forwards attacking the line constantly.

An excellent game and great results from Beauy coming away with a win. An effort the Mudgeeraba Coach commended.

Scenic Rim Electrical Man of the Match went to Vincent Coper for another great defensive display. McDonalds Coaches awards went to Luke Bostock, Roy O’Halloran, Flynn Harris-Dean and Jase Browne.

Under 12s

The Gelita under 12s Div 2s travelled to Mudgeeraba to take on the Redbacks. Having four players out on an early tropical holiday we called upon Jim McClure, Jacob Evile, Drew Pardoe, Vincent Coper and Aidan Maguire to help us out. (A huge shout out to the parents and John & Kylie Evile for organising this for us.)

The team came out strong and full of energy and scored out wide within the first five minutes. This laid a great platform for the entire game which was backed by their exceptional defence. The sides teamwork shone through and the ball movement continued from one side of the field to the other as reflected in our many try scorers bringing them out on top 38-4.

Try scorers: Xy Sandy x 2, Chad Knickel x 2, Ryan (Ruddy) Rudd, Jackson Farrugia, Jacob (Harko) Harkin

Conversions: Xy Sandy, Jett Anderson, Heath (Dizzy) Spalding, Zac Frazer, Jacob (Harko) Harkin

Man of the match: Jackson Farrugia

Under 13s

The under 13s boys took on the Redbacks today and with seven boys away they started with the bare 13. The team started strong and never let Mudgeereeba in the game with some good team tries and not turning ball over easy. All 13 chipped in today and did their share of work. Final score 54-nil

Tries- Saxon (2), Gus ,Trav, Hunter, Isaac, Harry, Kane, Liam S, Jay

Goals Trav (1), Kane (6)

Under 14s

The Learoyd Digger under 14s travelled to Parkwood to take on the Sharks. This team today showed they have a grit and a will to compete to the end.  Though they shot themselves in the foot with handling errors and penalty count . The extra tackling slowed them down in attack. More ball in the second half, helped the boys but on a couple of nice tries but they fell short this week 20-32. Boys you all went above and beyond today we are all proud of you.

Under 16s

Beaudesert Gelita under 16s travelled to Coomera today and came away with a 48-nil victory. The first half the Kingfishers lacked energy and enthusiasm, but were able to lead 16-nil. The second half their intensity lifted and they ran in another six tries. The pleasing part of the win was they were able to rotate a number of players into different positions to give them opportunities in key roles. The help from the players around them was first class. A big thanks to Charlie and Lochie from the under 15s for backing up today.
