Motorcyclist caught speeding almost twice the limit on Tamborine Mountain

A MOTORCYCLIST has been slapped with a hefty fine after being caught riding at nearly double the speed limit.

The 31-year-old man was spotted by police on Tamborine Mountain Road on March 10, travelling at 112km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police fined the man more than $1100 and suspended his licence for six months.

A police spokesman said the rider was caught speeding only metres away from the scene of a fatal traffic crash on March 19.
