Motorcyclists from around south-east Queensland journeyed to the Scenic Rim last weekend, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Queensland Motopark (QMP) and Motorcycling Queensland (MQ) organised the event for female motorcycle riders to join in a day of celebration.
QMP Operations Assistant Sue Snowden said riders came from as far north as Gympie and quite a few rode up from the Gold Coast and also Brisbane to attend the event.
“The ladies all enjoyed their ride, it was a beautiful day and for those that hadn’t been to the Scenic Rim before they were suitably impressed,” she said.
“They even went on afterwards to enjoy a country lunch at the Dugandan Hotel in Boonah.”
QMP welcomed the ladies with coffee and cake, and there was a great selection of lucky door prizes that were given away throughout the morning, including a waterproof riding jacket worth $250.
Several guest speakers also attended including four time Australian Enduro X champion Jemma Wilson, stunt rider Rhianna Buchanan and Dave Fuller from Advanced Rider Training who also donated a day’s coaching certificate as a lucky door prize.
QMP staff members Taylah Gee and Kristi Williams also participated in a Motocross Fashion display, showcasing women’s fashion on the bike tracks.
“We were very pleased with our day’s events and always like an opportunity to showcase the Scenic Rim and our wonderful facilities here at QMP,” Ms Snowden said.
