Fallen remembered
12 November 2008
In memory of the countless servicemen and women who lost their lives in war, RSL sub-branches held the ceremonies marked by a minute’s silence to honour the fallen.
Ninety years ago at 11am on November 11, the guns fell silent on the western front, ending four years of war.
During World War I, more than 60,000 Australians died and another 156,000 were wounded or taken as prisoners-of-war.
In Beaudesert, veterans gathered at the cenotaph for a service led by sub-branch president Errol Guilfoyle.
