The report assessed 19 catchments and 18 estuaries throughout south-east Queensland, grading each from A for excellent to F for fail.
The results of the report showed the freshwater Logan Catchment retained a D grading, the same result it achieved in 2007.
For the Albert catchment, which was the only one to improve from a B- last year to a B this year, the report said a combination of streams being in a good condition and a substantial improvement in the physical and chemical indicator from spring to autumn had affected its rating.
The Logan estuary was graded D- for the second year, due to elevated nutrients and poor water quality.
