Koalas threatened

Concerned koala carers and upset residents protested over the Southern Freight Rail Corridor at Peak Crossing on Saturday at a gathering attended by Scenic Rim Mayor John Brent, division six councillor Heather Wehl and Lockyer MP?Ian Rickuss.
The protest followed Premier Anna Bligh’s declaration in August that a top-level taskforce comprising scientific experts, conservation groups, developers, State Government and local councils would be formed to address issues associated with Queensland’s declining koala population. |
