![]() THE LNP has chosen Jonathan Krause to contest the State seat of Beaudesert at the next election. Mr Krause, a 30-year-old father of one, grew up on a dairy farm in Marburg and said he understood the pressures facing farmers in the electorate of Beaudesert. “I understand Beaudesert is still a rural electorate with a lot of primary producers and agriculture industries and as someone who grew up on a dairy farm, I understand the issues facing farmers,” he said. “I know the increasing costs of production and the terrible impacts of electricity and water prices can have on people’s livelihoods.” Mr Krause has been a member of the LNP since 2000 and previously sought preselection for the State seat of Beaudesert and the Federal seat of Wright, both in 2010. He spends his time between his family home at Frenches Creek near Boonah and in Brisbane when he has work commitments. He plans to finish his employment duties as a solicitor for the National Australia Bank to concentrate on campaigning for the next election, due to be held by March. Beaudesert has traditionally been an LNP voting electorate and Mr Krause said he would work hard to ensure the area was well represented by the LNP. “My family and my wife and I have a long background in the area and as someone who wants to raise their family here, we’re very concerned about the neglect which has been presented to the people of the electorate of Beaudesert over the last 20 years of Labor Government,” he said. In his spare time, Mr Krause volunteers as a rugby union referee and is also a member of the Boonah Show Society. |
